Research, the call flow and the calling team

Cold Calling Flow And Techniques

Most agency owners avoid the phone. The ones who do call often ring at the wrong hour, get stopped by the gatekeeper, and sound like a vendor selling a price. This bootcamp session makes cold calling a steady sales channel. Its three live hours cover research before the call and a call flow that reaches the decision maker. They also cover partnership language instead of a pitch, and a calling team that runs without you. The session is for digital marketing and software development agencies.

Why the phone still works

Session Overview

The phone is the channel most Pakistani agency owners avoid, and that is exactly why it works for the ones who use it well. Most calls fail in the same ways: no research, the wrong hour, a gatekeeper who ends the call, and a pitch that sounds like a vendor chasing a price.

This session fixes how each call is made before you make more of them. It starts with research before the call and the best windows to ring. It also combines calls, texts and email, so the phone is not working alone. Then it sets out the call flow, with AIDA behind it, and how to get past the gatekeeper to the person who decides.

Next comes the language of the call: partnership language instead of a pitch, and appointment setting. It also covers spoken English and accent, so a US or UK buyer hears a partner, not a price. It closes on building a calling team and a call centre, so calling no longer depends on whether the owner has a free afternoon.

Done this way, the phone is the fastest way to turn a list of prospects into meetings. It is also work you can hand to a team.

What changes on the phone
  • Calls made at whatever hour you remember

Research first, at the right window

  • Stuck at the gatekeeper

A call flow that reaches the decision maker

  • You are the only one who calls

A calling team that runs without you

Opening

Before the call

What it covers

  • Research before the call
  • The best call windows
  • Calls, texts and email combined

The problem it answers

Calls go out with no research, at the wrong hour, with the phone doing all the work on its own.

Then

The call flow

What it covers

  • The call flow
  • AIDA
  • Getting past the gatekeeper

The problem it answers

The call has no shape, so it ends at the gatekeeper or runs past the moment to ask.

Then

Partnership language

What it covers

  • Partnership language instead of a pitch
  • Appointment setting
  • Spoken English and accent

The problem it answers

The call sounds like a vendor selling a price, so the buyer hears a cost, not a partner.

To close

Building a calling team

What it covers

  • Building a calling team
  • The call centre
  • Calling that runs without you

The problem it answers

You are the only person who makes the calls, so calling stops whenever you are busy.

The work after the session

Live Implementation And Homework

The session ends with work on your own prospects, and your first calls go out in the week after it. The homework is small on purpose: one assignment, not a long worksheet.

  1. 1

Apply it to your own list

A small assignment after the session, done on your own prospects and market, not on an example.

  2. 2

Post it to the topic thread

Questions and what happened on the calls go to this session’s Q&A thread, where the coaches and the cohort answer.

  3. 3

    Hand it to a caller

The recording goes to up to two partners, so the person who will make your calls can learn the flow from the session itself.

What we ask of you

  • Turn up live: attendance is the first thing the programme measures.
  • Put the work into practice between sessions, not only watch.
  • Ask in the thread, and help the others.

Questions about this session

FAQs

Does cold calling still work for selling to US and UK buyers?

Yes, cold calling still works for the agencies that do it well. The session covers what turns a call into a meeting, not a hang up. That means research first, the right window, a call flow that reaches the decision maker, and language that sounds like a partner, not a vendor.

I am nervous about my accent on calls. Is this session for me?

Yes, spoken English and accent are part of this session. They sit in the same part as partnership language and appointment setting, because how a call sounds is part of what a buyer hears. The Sales coaching track goes further, with spoken English and accent coaching of its own.

Do I have to make the calls myself?

At first, yes: making the first calls yourself shows you what a good call sounds like. The session closes on building a calling team and a call centre for this reason. Calling that depends on the owner stops whenever the owner is busy. The recording also goes to up to two partners, so a caller can learn from the session directly.

Is it only calls, or does it cover email and texts too?

It covers calls, texts and email combined, so the phone is not working alone. The deeper email work, from deliverability to the campaign, is its own session, Email Marketing Campaigns And PPC Tactics.
